VUC announces a competition for doctoral scholarship award in radio astronomy or astrophysics

The Ventspils University College (hereinafter – VUC; http://www.venta.lv ) announces an international competition for a four year 1420 €/month doctoral scholarship award in radio astronomy or astrophysics resulting in a doctoral thesis in one of the three main research areas of the VUC Ventspils International Radio Astronomy Center (VUC VIRAC; http://www.virac.eu ): solar physics, astrochemistry, or investigations of natural or man-made near-Earth objects.

The research efforts are to take place in the VUC VIRAC, while the PhD studies – in one of the Latvian or world's leading universities. The student has the opportunity to use the recently upgraded world class VUC VIRAC radio telescopes with 32 and 16 m diameters.
